Abstract

The article discusses career changes, focusing on profiles of five Americans who changed jobs to provide examples of different reasons and methods for taking such an action such as a lifestyle upgrade, the need for a fresh start, and loss of a former job. Experiences examined include the transition of advertising executive Art Burns into the restaurant industry, graphic designer Elizabeth DiFebo's move into physical therapy, and aerospace engineer Rob Sherwood's switch to computer animation.
