Abstract

Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) is more widely used and attractive in modern hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) and industrial applications due to its relatively simple motor structure and reduced processing cost. This paper proposes the field-oriented controlled (FOC) IPMSM drive using extended Kalman filter (EKF) algorithm for state estimation is established with Matlab/Simulink. Using this algorithm, the phase currents (iaand ic), rotor position (θre, and angular speed (θre) are estimated. Moreover, simulations results are presented to show that the control system works smoothly with load and that indicate the good functionality of proposed algorithm.
