This study aims to determine the appropriateness of character education content with the fourth grade students' books based on 2013 curriculum based on the theme of "my hero." This study uses a qualitative approach to the types of content analysis research. The source of data in this study is the 2013 curriculum student book with the theme "My hero" revised edition 2017 for fourth grade elementary school students. Data collection techniques used in this study are documentation. Data analysis techniques using qualitative data analysis techniques include data acquisition, data reduction or reduction, inference, and data analysis. Character education with a grade IV student book my hero theme is quite in accordance with a percentage of 55 %. The highest character value is the nationalist value with a percentage of 47.28 %. The highest nationalist value appears because it is in accordance with my hero theme, while the percentage of religious values is 7,27%. Independent value indicates percentage percentage of 25.45%, while the percentage of the value of mutual cooperation of 9.09%. Integrity value shows a percentage of 10.91%.
