Abstract
Our profession is debating hotly our professional objectives, techniques, and terminology. User-interface design speaks of users, design, and computer-based systems. Are there terms that would be more helpful to convey the right meaning of users, design, and user-interfaces? For that matter, what should we call ourselves and what we do?
