Tendon injuries are very common among football athletes. These injuries usually result from microtraumatic events, and the most affected tendons are the adductor, proximal hamstrings, patellar and Achilles tendons. Several clinical, biological and environmental features have been proposed as possible intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors. The identification of these risk factors plays a crucial role in tailoring modification therapy and implementing preventive strategies. This chapter explores the epidemiology, risk factors and prevention strategies for the most frequent tendon injuries of the lower limb, including the adductor, proximal hamstrings, patellar and Achilles tendons.
