Historically, the Maurepas swamp was what most people envisioned when they thought of Louisiana: majestic baldcypress draped with Spanish moss, Cajun locals fishing and hunting, and scenic bayous winding slowly to the Gulf of Mexico. The swamp was, and still is, rich with wildlife, drawing in commercial and recreational fishermen and hunters. Its beauty captivates artists and photographers, boaters, and naturalists. © 2007 Springer.
