Abstract

This chapter provides an overview on some effects of qualitatively and quantitatively different types of exercise stimuli on the blood concentration of neurotrophic factors, the hormone prolactin, and amino acids in humans. The findings of the research described are discussed in respect to their functional implications for neurogenesis and neurotransmitter systems in the brain.
