Abstract

One of Charles Darwin’s sons, George, at the nearby house of another scientist, Sir John Lubbock (see below), asked ‘Where does your father do his barnacles?’ naturally supposing that all scientists carried out the same experiments (Keynes, 2001, p. 151).
