Abstract

Depression is the most common psychiatric disorder in patients with multiple sclerosis but the relationship between the two conditions is complex. In this article, the authors discuss the factors that may contribute to depression in patients with multiple sclerosis, the ways in which each condition may affect the other and the treatment options available. © 2010 Wiley Interface Ltd.
