Abstract

This article aims to analyze the factors that determine the interest of indigenous Papuan students at the Faculty of Economics, University of Papua to work in the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors. Using a quantitative descriptive research approach, it is found that the results of the analysis show that the respondent's family environmental factor is the most dominant factor influencing a student's decision to work in the agricultural, forestry or fisheries sector. The income expectation factor also has a positive and significant effect, thus illustrating that the business prospects in the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors remain promising for job seekers in West Papua. Keywords: Interest in work, Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang menentukan minat mahasiswa asli Papua di Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Papua untuk bekerja pada sektor pertanian kehutanan dan perikanan. Menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, didapati hasil analisis bahwa faktor lingkungan keluarga responden menjadi faktor paling dominan mempengaruhi keputusan seorang mahasiswa nantinya akan bekerja di sektor pertanian, kehutanan atau perikanan. Faktor ekspektasi pendapatan juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan sehingga memberi gambaran bahwa prospek bisnis di sektor pertanian, kehutanan dan perikanan tetap menjanjikan bagi para pencari kerja di Papua Barat.
