Abstract

The process to explore application integration for enterprise information system is called Enterprise Application Integration (EAI). Generally, EAI that based on the peer-to-peer has many limitations, such as poor extensibility, difficulty of management, and high-cost etc. These disadvantages can be overcome by Web services technology which helps to integrate large-scale, distributed enterprise applications together. This paper presents a framework of EAI which based on Web services, and gives discussions on its major functional modules. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.
