The goal of the application scenario is the digital verification and a preferably realistic experience of future products in the different stages of the product lifecycle. Thereby, the complex product of a car and the interaction of a human with this product have been taken into consideration. In the scenario the product is partially or completely represented by virtual models. Cars have complex user interfaces like e.g. cockpits, which need to be assured concerning security related as well as aesthetic aspects. Especially the human use of a car in real operational environments and in different driving situations plays an important role in the varying stages of the product development. In this context, virtual technologies have been taken to assure and experience virtual product models or variants of it in interaction with a user. Therefore, projection based solutions to ensure different product variants in a car cockpit and methods to experience a car in a nearly automatically created complex and realistic 3D driving environment were realised. By using the ARVIDA reference architecture the developed solutions have been integrated in the application scenario, illustrating the potential of the reference architecture very well.
