Approach to Digital Asset Management Service Development

Abstract

Digitalization blurs industry boundaries and disrupts businesses. It offers opportunities for and challenges to asset management related to, for instance, condition monitoring and machine prognostics. In this paper, we propose a top-down approach to digital asset management service development. In this approach, the targets of the services are defined according to strategic guidelines, and customer knowledge is effectively exploited at all levels of the development work. The approach combines activities such as roadmapping, and understanding the customer’s decision-making context and business model development.
