A theoretical model of ironing with a superimposed force was set up to observe the influences of various forming conditions, materials and geometrical characteristics. The results showed that material constant C, length of the cylindrical part of the dye h and the stress rate had a large influence on formability and forming force. It was found that superimposed force increased forming force and energy, but decreased forming efficiency.
