Abstract

Recruiting older people as participants in research projects based in the use of new information and communication technologies (ICTs) is a challenge for health researchers, especially because persons with low IT skills self-perception are difficult to reach, but also when the eligibility criterion related to the technologies is sophisticated. This chapter presents a reflection in reference to the challenges, limitations and idiosyncrasies when researchers confront different recruiting situations and strategies to overcome the barriers to contact this audience during the NESTORE project fieldwork development.
