Abstract

To evaluate ITER vacuum vessel buckling behavior, shell elements are used in FE analysis. Forged parts in lower ports are far from shell behavior and can not represent real design. To overcome this problem, 3-D solid elements are inserted in the shell elements by using Multiple Points Constraint method. With these calculations, new shape of shell elements is suggested for further calculations.
