Abstract

Nephroureterectomy is the standard of care for upper urinary tract urothelial cell carcinoma (UTUC). Robotic nephroureterectomy (RNU) is an established technique for the minimally invasive performance of nephroureterectomy. The three-dimensional vision, efficient wristed suturing, and precise movements of RNU offer advantages over laparoscopic nephroureterectomy (LNU). Short-term oncological outcomes and perioperative morbidity are comparable to LNU series. In this chapter, we describe the indications, preparation, instrumentation, setup, technique, and complications of transperitoneal RNU.
