Abstract

*[On Gliricidia sepium, aphid honeydew attracts ants & promotes the growth of fungus over the leaves. Natural regeneration of the Australian pine, Casuarina equisetifolia, is rare in Puerto Rico due to seed consumption by ants. The introduction of Inga quaternata, for use as shade in coffee plantations, failed because the tree is susceptible to the ant Myrmelachista ramulorum, a pest of coffee.]
