Abstract

Situation awareness is an important factor in successful computer mediated group discussion, yet the related metrics have been lacking. To fill in that gap, we propose 13 metrics from 3 aspects to systematically reflect discussion situation using hierarchical discussion as an example. This research can be considered as the first attempt to answer what a fully understanding of discussion situation is and how to measure it. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
