Abstract

In this paper, a robust active queue management system to secure high utilization as well as bounded delay and loss is designed. Using this system, the network complies with the demands each traffic class set. We use Fuzzy Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller in which the parameters of PID controllers are tuned based on fuzzy logic. The proposed controller is simple to implement as well as robust due to the nature of fuzzy controller. Simulation results of the proposed control action demonstrate the effectiveness of the controller in providing robust queue management system. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.
