Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to provide a background on the effects of aging on proteolytic pathways and protein aggregation, and to discuss the contribution of altered protease function and protein aggregation to brain function. Studies will focus on the proteasome proteolytic pathway. Lastly, these studies will also discuss the relationship between aging and age-related neurodegenerative disorders © 2006 Springer.
