Starting from a critique of the anthropological concept that lies behind the transhumanist vision for the future of humanity, the purpose of this study is to demonstrate the current relevance of Christian soteriology for the progress of human culture. Toward this end, the profound anthropological responsibility inherent in the revelation of God in the person of Jesus Christ is discussed directly, not avoiding the paradox that confirms the truthfulness of man's concern for his salvation: not in spite of, but in and through, the neediness of his personal nature.
