Abstract

Faced with the pressure of market competition, the minicar manufacturers need to the design of the front face effectively. The paper will collect the samples of appearances of existing minicars and adopt the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to explore the optimal design of the front face of minicars in China’s automobile market. The research results will provide useful reference for the initial stage of the development and optimal design of minicars’ front faces. The appearances of the minicars’ front faces are divided into 7 factors and 32 levels. The weight of each factor is obtained by using AHP, and the optimal design of the front face of minicars is analyzed. AHP will effectively simplify the complex and irregular factors, and make the final decisions of the front face design of minicars, through various experimental analyses, to provide effective quantitative criteria. Our quantitative criteria can help the products to be put on the market be easily recognized by consumers, thereby increasing the market value of this product in China.
