In many practical applications one does not have to deal with the full system of Maxwell’s equations because there are assumptions allowing for substantial simpli-fications. For example, in electrostatics, charges do not move so there are no currents and then the magnetic field is null. In this chapter, we will study this model in terms of the electrostatic potential and introduce the concept of capacitance.
