Abstract

This paper describes work in progress aimed at considering temporal aspects of the appropriation process for prolonging the use of software artifacts with enabling design choices. A model of appropriation from the Information Systems domain is applied to understand the stages of appropriation as a process. The model is complemented by proposing a design space for introducing appropriation-enabling options at each stage towards prolonged use of software solutions. © 2014 Springer International Publishing.
