Abstract

The development of IoT has revolutionized the healthcare in a constructive way. It allows the Health providers to collect the data effectively, automated the workflow, improved the accuracy of diagnosis and reduces the risk of errors. The implementation of IoT in Health Monitoring Systems saves many lives every day. In India, the healthcare industry is started using the IoT enabled devices to track the health condition of elderly and diseased persons. This survey explores the existing IoT enabled Health Monitoring Systems and their benefits. Since the hypertension is identified as a threat to notable population in India, the relationship between the blood pressure and lifestyle has to be navigated. Specifically, the millennial human beings are sleeping very minimal duration of time and their quality of sleep is also vulnerably low. These issues hurt the human body’s ability to regulate stress hormones. That leads to high blood pressure, which paves the way to heart problems and other health risks. Self-monitoring the sleeping pattern might help to resolve this issue. Nevertheless, the wearable health monitoring devices could only be affordable by part of population. Hence, there is a need to develop an affordable electronic wearable device to measure the blood pressure and sleep pattern of the individual.
