Abstract

In the patient under discussion, encainide was subsequently found to be ineffective when ventriclar tachycardia recurred. Thus this patient had successful control or arrhythmias with quinidine, procainamide, disopyramide, phenytoin, propranolol, tocainide, aprindine, and later bretylium. There, we implanted an automatic internal defibrillator and post-operatively treatment was begun with an investigational agent- amiodarone. At the present time, the patient's arrhythmias seem to be under adequate control and he has returned to school with marked improvement in academic performance.
