Abstract

In this study, Fuzzy Logic method has been used on a previously completed research project data which investigate the Turkish high school students' attitudes towards mathematics on 30170 students. There are four fuzzy system inputs available for the study since each factor consisting data set is handled as a separate input. Three types of alternative membership functions (triangular, trapezoidal, and Gaussian) have been used for the fuzzification of the data used in this study. Fuzzy system units are identical to each other except the fuzzification unit. Rule base has been composed of 352 rules. Centroid method has been used for defuzzification process. Turkish high school students' attitudes towards mathematics, with respect to student's gender, high school types and geographic regions where students live, were investigated and compared with the earlier completed project results.
