The Japanese Society for Pediatric Nephrology (JSPN; http://www.jspn.jp/en/) was founded in 1967 as a nonprofit organization to enhance and assist the study and practice of pediatric nephrology. The specific goals of the JSPN are: 1. To identify causes of pediatric kidney diseases and to develop evidence-based effective and safe treatments 2. To provide correct medical knowledge and technology to pediatricians who provide medical care for children with kidney diseases 3. To engage in networking activities that promote the early detection and appropriate treatment of children with kidney diseases 4. To develop young pediatric nephrologists to lead international initiatives 5. To support research activities for pediatric kidney diseases
