Abstract

Due to the existing alteration of the soil, caused by the constant exploitation to obtain aggregates in the quarries and also the exposure to solid waste, where according to MINAM in the last five years, 2.76% is discarded glass, so it has been considered its reuse in the construction sector, which consists of replacing a percentage of fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and cement by the crushed glass in the production of concrete. The main objective is to evaluate the influence of the addition of recycled glass on the compressive strength of concrete and its benefit on the environment, it was carried out with the methodology of a meta-analysis, considering a total of 50 types of research, where part of them have been examined using EPIDAT and SPSS software's. The results showed that the optimal and most beneficial treatments represent the replacement of 10% and 20% of the fine aggre ga te by the material under study, concluding that the reuse of glass as a substitute for aggregate optimizes the properties and strength of concrete, besides representing a contribution to the environment.
