Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to review the current trends and procedure volumes of robotic bariatric surgery and to assess its role in the future of bariatric surgery. Various bariatric operations, including revisional procedures, performed using the robot will be reviewed as well as the costs of incorporating the robot into surgical practice. Additionally, emerging robotic systems that may be utilized in bariatric surgery will be discussed.
