Abstract

Human-computer interaction of multimedia technology provides an innovative platform for foreign language education. Assisted by multimedia technology, case-based teaching is widely applied to teaching intercultural communication, a new area in English curriculum system. This pedagogy increasingly arouses great concern for its effectiveness of theory input and students' criticality development. According to a survey result of 100 sophomores from intercultural communication class in Qingdao Agricultural University, 95 % of them positively approve it helpful and effective in theory explanation; 90 % of them believe it can better stimulate students' learning motivation. Some teaching practices are also suggested in the paper. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
