Pattern strabismus is a particular form of incomitant where the deviation differs in up and downgaze creating a characteristic shape. It is associated with overaction of horizontal or vertical recti, obliques and in some cases, cyclorotation of the orbit. This chapter details the various types of pattern strabismus, their etiology and preferred treatment plans.
