Abstract

4.4.8 Conclusion: Thoracic fluid and gas collections may result from benign, malignant, traumatic, and nontraumatic diseases. The role of imaging is well established for diagnosing the cause. Image-guided percutaneous drainage of thoracic gas and fluid collection appear as a safe and effective alternative to surgery. © 2007 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
