The patient was identified in the holding area and the affected extremity marked. He/she was brought into the operating room and placed in a supine position. General endotracheal anesthesia was performed by the anesthesia team. The patient was given prophylactic antibiotics, a Foley was inserted, and the tourniquet applied. All extremities were well padded.
