Abstract

Blepharoplasty is one of the most frequent aesthetic surgeries in the world. The complete analysis, not only of the eyelids but also of the entire periorbital region and middle face, and the understanding of the physiopathology of the aging process of the face are important for the correct execution of blepharoplasties. In this chapter we deal with important aspects of the aging process of the eyelids and periorbital region, as well as different blepharoplasty techniques, with emphasis on those of the author's preference. We hope that at the end of the chapter, the reader will have a good understanding of the pathophysiology of eyelids and periorbital region aging process and be able to correctly perform the different blepharoplasty techniques.
