Abstract

We present H and K SINFONI/VLT spectroscopy of the Superantennae (IRAS 9254-7245) - a late stage merger at ∼250Mpc, a more powerful analog of the classical Antennae galaxy, harboring two nuclei: a starburst and an AGN. We present rotational and velocity dispersion maps derived from absorption and emission lines. We also show some line index and line ratio maps and discuss their implications for the star formation and the AGN activity in the galaxy. © 2007 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
