Abstract

Awareness of vulnerabilities is a critical issue in cyber security. There are well-known and documented vulnerabilities that can be readily addressed, but only if one is aware of them. Vulnerabilities are an issue of what you don’t know can hurt you. Fortunately, there are a number of tools and resources that can aid you in understanding vulnerabilities in your system. You can then integrate that informationinformation into your security process. The first step is to become aware of vulnerabilities in your network. As will be seen in this chapter, there are a wide array of tools and websites to assist you in this. But then that informationinformation must be integrated into your cybersecurity plans in order to mitigate the vulnerabilities. The latter part of this chapter will address that issue.
