La riproduzione sessuale di alcuni tetractinellidi (porifera)

Abstract

Sexual and reproductive phenomena in some species of Tctractincliidac (1’orifera) from the coast of Apulia and the Hay of Naples (0-2.1 in. depth) have been studied. The species arc Gcodia cydonium and Geodia conchilcga of the GeodUdue and CranieUa era nium of the Crmiicllidae; Gtodia cydonium has been studied in more detail. It has been ascertained that the period of sexual maturity lasts from jane to October and that this species is gonoehoristic and oviparous. From the histological examination of sections, percentage data month by month have been drawn on female, male and asexual spe- cimens. No difference has been observed, within the period of sexual maturity, between specimens from different depths nnd stations. © 1969 Taylor and Francis Group, LLC. All Rights Reserved.
