Abstract

Different methods of synthesis involved in the preparation of fluorinated telechelic monodispersed compounds are described. First, a bibliographical approach develops the molecules in which the fluorine atoms are located on the main chain: obtaining by chemical change of fluorinated molecules (e.g. diacids, telomers), by bistelomerization and by direct or special syntheses. In a second part, investigations concerning the different preparations and uses of fluorinated telechelic molecules in which the fluorinated groups are branched on the back-bone are mentioned. Synthetic methods of obtaining 1,x-diols where 1 ≦ × ≦ 4 are described: diols prepared from diamines, by condensation, by simple addition of fluorinated telogens onto difunctional olefines. Furthermore, other novels syntheses such as the ring opening polymerization of fluorinated oxetanes lead to these compounds. In both parts, several chemical and physical parameters are supplied and the applications described.
