Abstract
STMicroelectronics is at the forefront of the digital multimedia revolution, enabling the consumer electronics industry with highly integrated platform based solutions. As a leading supplier of integrated circuits (ICs) for mobile phones, ST also aims to make compelling multimedia a practical reality for handheld devices. An ambitious development effort has led to a remarkable application processor that enables smart phones, wireless PDAs, Internet appliances and car entertainment systems to playback media content, record pictures and video clips, and perform audiovisual communicate with other systems.
