Abstract

The development of faith and morals has not become the main thing in the preparation and implementation of the national education system. This of course has an impact on the condition of the nation as it is today. Various moral problems continue to occur even in the educational environment itself. This condition necessitates the need to evaluate education in its various aspects. Husaini is a thinker and education practitioner who is persistent in criticizing and offering solutions to various educational problems in Indonesia. This study attempts to elaborate on Adian Husaini's educational thinking and formulate guidelines for the preparation of a civilized curriculum for the junior high school level. The nature of this research is qualitative research using the descriptive- analytical research method on Husaini's writings. This study reveals that Husaini's educational principle places the formation of adab as the core of the curriculum by prioritizing mastery of the fardhu 'ain sciences and the selection of fardhu kifayah sciences that are tailored to the needs of the people.
