Abstract

Hot compression testing equipment was developed for the studies. The hot deformation behavior of HSLA steels as well as 18 EN DASH 8 stainless steel was studied by changing the strain rate within the temperature range 900 to 1200 degree C. The objective was to investigate the effects of Nb and the initial austenite grain size on the dynamic restoration process and to clarify microstructural changes accompanying recovery and recrystallization.
