Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To assess the clinical and microbiological effects of antimicrobial photodynamic therapy as an adjunctive to subgingival scaling and root planing compared with subgingival scaling and root planing alone, or with subgingival scaling and root planing in combination with a placebo, for the treatment of adults (> 18 years) with aggressive or chronic periodontitis or with peri-implant disease.
