Amor e desprezo: o velho caso entre sociologia e educação no âmbito do GT-14

Abstract

Trata das relações entre sociologia e educação. Na primeira parte do artigo, essa relação é discutida historicamente, desde a entrada da sociologia no Brasil, durante a década de 1920 até sua institucionalização como sociologia da educação, nas faculdades de pedagogia, durante as décadas de 1970 e 1980. Na segunda parte, é feito um levantamento da produção do GT Sociologia da Educação da Anped, focalizando os principais temas, metodologias e bibliografias que dominaram o grupo durante a década de 1990. Pretendeu-se colocar em debate o desenvolvimento da sociologia da educação nos últimos anos e apontar possíveis caminhos e tendências para o futuro dessa disciplina no Brasil.This paper deals with the relations between sociology and education. In the first part, this relationship is discussed in historical terms, from the entrance of sociology in Brazil during the 1920's up to its institutionalisation as sociology of education in the faculties of pedagogy, during the 1970's and 1980's. In the second part, a survey of the production of the Anped Sociology of Education Working Group is carried out, focusing on the principle themes, methodologies and bibliographies that dominated the group during the 1990's. The object is to stimulate discussion on the development of the sociology of education in recent years and to indicate possible paths and tendencies for the future of this discipline in Brazil.
