Ultrasound is the imaging modality of choice in evaluation of the pediatric breast. Ultrasound is noninvasive, readily performed, and does not involve the administration of ionizing radiation. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the clinical applications of ultrasound to disorders of the pediatric and adolescent breast. Normal breast development is described, and common developmental disorders, benign and malignant masses are reviewed. Inflammatory abnormalities and lesions related to maternal estrogen hormonal stimulation are discussed along with a brief review of treatment options.
