SAR for kids: Spatial augmented reality as tool for art education

Abstract

This article, after describing some possible developments of spatial augmented reality (SAR) in urban areas since the first experiments by Bruno Munari, will present two SAR experiences into public spaces for cultural heritage education of school-age children. These experiences were aimed, on the one hand, to verify the potential of live drawing on large dimensions and on the other to represent one’s own personal graphic interpretation of an urban façade on the basis of suggestions deriving from a specific event: the passage of the Giro d’Italia.
