Abstract

In recent years mobile usage has increased remarkably, attracting new adopters. Mobile applications, or mobile apps, have become essential tools for daily tasks, enhancing productivity, communication and entertainment. Nowadays, there is a great demand for updated software in order to meet customer expectations. Interaction aspects and aesthetic characteristics stand out as an important differential, which must guide the product development process. Therefore, it is necessary to elicit functional requirements based on existing products, which are available in repositories, i.e. mobile app stores. We present M4REMAIP, a method for requirements elicitation based on mobile applications under an interaction perspective, as well as results of this method's application in order to demonstrate its practical usefulness for requirements elicitation in the context of home control applications. © 2014 Springer International Publishing Switzerland.
