Abstract

The book is divided into three parts: theory, research, and practice. Part I (Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4) mainly concerns theoretical issues surround- ing the interest construct. Part II (Chapters 5, 6, 7, 8) reports the ndings of research conducted by the author to investigate the interest construct with reference to the discipline of language learning and teaching. Part III (Chapters 9 and 10) o ers some practical examples, applying in practice issues arising from the rst two parts.
