Abstract

Italian initiatives and experiments with artificial reefs, in particular in the Adriatic Sea, have been prompted by the requirement to effectively manage and enhance the coastal seas. The coastal zone is subject to inter- and intra-sector conflicts but has great potential for fishery and mariculture development.
